As part of New Jersey’s statewide economic development initiative, the program helps businesses thrive while improving commercial corridors and expanding job opportunities for residents.
UEZ Business Benefits
Qualified UEZ businesses are eligible for valuable incentives, including:
*a reduced 3.3125% sales tax rate,
*tax‑free purchases on certain capital equipment and supplies
*and tax credits for hiring new employees.
These benefits are designed to lower operating costs and promote business expansion throughout the township.

Walking Patrol Public Saftey
Irvington’s Urban Enterprise Zone is a community‑focused safety initiative designed to increase foot patrols by uniformed personnel throughout key commercial corridors. The project aims to deter crime, support local businesses and build positive relationships between law enforcement and residents, ultimately creating a safer, more welcoming environment for shoppers, workers and visitors. The initiative is scheduled to begin
April 2026.
Clean Sweep II
Keeping Our Business Corridors Beautiful, One Street at a Time program will employ a dedicated team of local laborers who live within the UEZ area, working daily to clean and maintain streets, sidewalks and public spaces. This initiative not only enhances the appearance and cleanliness of the community but also creates meaningful job opportunities for residents, strengthening pride and ownership within the neighborhood

We are proud to share the upcoming launch of our created to empower local entrepreneurs and small business owners with the financial support they need to grow and succeed. This program will offer a low 2% interest rate, giving businesses access to affordable funding that can help them expand, invest in equipment, and strengthen their operations.
